Memorial Day Weekend at Ft. Rosecrans
We had a busy Memorial Day Weekend starting with flag placements at Ft. Rosecrans on Saturday (24th) at 7am. On Memorial Day we will hold a wreath laying at 8am followed by the traditional Memorial Day ceremonies. Check our Events page (https://www.sarsandiego.org/events/) for more details
Honoring a Hero
Army Specialist Matthew J Holly was killed in action by a roadside bomb on November 15th 2005. When his remains were returned to San Diego, his coffin was unloaded from a commercial aircraft without any honors, and was unloaded with a fork lift by the airport ground crew. His treatment

The Passing of Compatriot Ernest Shea
It is with deep regret that we inform our members that this morning that our Compatriot Ernest Shea passed away in early January. Ernest and his son, Mike and his Grandsons Trevor and Stuart along with a nephew of Mikes are all proud members of SAR and of our Chapter.
