America 250
Celebrations
Our mission is to celebrate and commemorate the entirety of the American Revolution period from the 250th Anniversary of the Boston Tea Party in 2023 to the 250th Anniversary of the British Army’s departure from New York City in 2033.
December 16, 2023 – Boston Tea Party
We held a reenactment of the Boston Tea Party complete with a tall-ship, period actors and historical building facades.
We joined with San Diego area DAR Chapters to host this event.
September 21, 2024 – Constitution Day Meeting
Our Chapter will present a Constitution Day program at the Hall of Nations in Balboa Park. The program will feature a recreation of the Jefferson-Adams debate on the form of our new government.
April 19, 2025 – Lexington & Concord
The San Diego Chapter will be joined by other Southern California SAR Chapters and DAR Chapters for an reenactment of the Battle of Lexington & Concord. The program will feature firing black powder muskets, fife & drum corp and a narrated program. The event will be near Prado and Sixth Avenue at the entrance to the Park at 10am.
July 4, 2026 – Independence Day
San Diego Area. The San Diego area DAR Chapters and SDSAR are in the planning stage for an exceptional number of events around the county to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our independence.
