The San Diego Chapter is holding our annual Summer Social at the 94th Aero Squadron at 8885 Balboa. This is a no host event and no signup is needed, just show up and join us on the patio. We will start at 6pm and stay as late as you wish.

Compatriot Grave Marking is conducted in a similar manner to last year’s highly successful Patriot Grave Marking ceremonies except we are honoring former members. Members of our Color Guard marched in the La Mesa Flag Day Parade on Saturday, June 14th.  There was a large turnout of participants and spectators with near perfect parade weather.  The Parade moved through downtown La Mesa along La Mesa Blvd. 

Recently our JROTC Award leader, Gary Newton, attended the annual awards presentation at Mira Mesa High School where he presented cadet Julian Tang with his Awards (medal, certificate , $1000 check. and America 250 coin).  There were 300 people at the AFJROTC unit awards banquet where Julian was cheered by

We had a busy Memorial Day Weekend starting with flag placements at Ft. Rosecrans on Saturday (24th) at 7am. On Memorial Day we will hold a wreath laying at 8am followed by the traditional Memorial Day ceremonies. Check our Events page (https://www.sarsandiego.org/events/)  for more details

Army Specialist Matthew J Holly was killed in action by a roadside bomb on November 15th 2005.  When his remains were returned to San Diego, his coffin was unloaded from a commercial aircraft without any honors, and was unloaded with a fork lift by the airport ground crew.  His treatment
