The annual Board of Managers meeting is for the leadership of CASSAR, NSSAR and our local Chapters to learn of actions affecting us as well as discuss topic of interest. We also have the opportunity to hear from members that are running for National Society offices.
It is also the time when State and National awards are presented to our members. Ben Hobbins was presented with the Gold Roger Sherman medal for his service to NSSAR. Carolyn Campbell was awarded the Silver Sarah Fulton medal for her years of supporting our Color Guard and marching with them when needed. Duncan Campbell was awarded the Silver Meritorious Service medal and Michal Hirman was awarded the Silver Henry Knox medal.
We received four Silver American 250 medals for our Chapter which will be presented to members and regular attendees in November and subsequent meetings. We received the certificate and check for our JROTC winner who placed second in the national judging.
While indirectly related to our Chapter, the State Society voted to donate an additional $1,000 to the First Amphibious Assault Memorial being created in Pompano Beach, Florida.
