Anchored in Freedom Parade – Liberty Station
July 3 | Parade Begins at 1:00 PM | Muster at 11:30 AM Join the San Diego Chapter Color Guard as we participate in Liberty Station's annual Anchored in Freedom Parade. We will be marching alongside the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), La Jolla Chapter, in this patriotic community celebration. This is a shorter parade route, making it an excellent opportunity for both experienced and new participants. Following the parade, attendees can enjoy a festive celebration featuring entertainment, family activities, and prizes awarded for the most patriotic costumes.

Coronado Independence Day Parade
July 4 | Parade Begins at 10:00 AM | Color Guard Muster at 8:30 AM The Coronado Independence Day Parade is widely regarded as the most popular Fourth of July parade in San Diego County. Due to limited parking and road closures, Color Guard members should arrive at the staging area by 8:30 AM. This approximately two-hour parade draws thousands of spectators each year. Half of our Chapter Color Guard will be participating. Our unit typically begins marching about 50 minutes after the official parade start. Members and guests are encouraged to remain in Coronado following the parade to enjoy the day's festivities and conclude the celebration by watching the spectacular fireworks display over San Diego Bay.

Alpine Independence Day Parade
July 4 | Parade Begins at 10:00 AM | Color Guard Muster at 9:00 AM Celebrate Independence Day with the San Diego Chapter at the Alpine Independence Day Parade. This smaller community parade covers approximately one-half mile and offers a wonderful opportunity to engage with local residents in a patriotic setting. Our Chapter Color Guard has the honor of leading the parade, proudly carrying the colors at the head of the procession.

USS Bennington Memorial Ceremony
July 18 | Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery | Program Begins at 10:00 AM The USS Bennington Memorial Ceremony is one of the San Diego Chapter's signature annual events. Held at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, the ceremony honors the sailors who lost their lives in the tragic boiler explosion aboard the USS Bennington on July 21, 1905, while the ship was anchored in San Diego Bay. The program includes: This solemn and meaningful event serves as an opportunity to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
