July 18 | Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery | Program Begins at 10:00 AM

The USS Bennington Memorial Ceremony is one of the San Diego Chapter’s signature annual events. Held at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, the ceremony honors the sailors who lost their lives in the tragic boiler explosion aboard the USS Bennington on July 21, 1905, while the ship was anchored in San Diego Bay.

The program includes:

• Wreath-laying ceremony
• Guest speaker presentation
• Revolutionary War-style musket firing salute
• Grave decoration and remembrance activities

This solemn and meaningful event serves as an opportunity to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
