Seventh Annual Field of Honor Event

The red, white and blue will fly at Castaways Park in Newport Beach from May 20th thru May 22nd for the Field of Honor event to celebrate past and present members of the five branches of the military: the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard. This is a National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (NSSAR) Color Guard event.

Friday is youth day. Members of the California Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (CASSAR) Color Guard will join with the Buena Park High School JROTC Color Guard for the presentation of the Colors. Please be at the park no later than 9:00 a.m. if you plan to participate in the Friday program.

The Saturday dedication ceremony will begin at 12:00 noon. We will join with a USMC Color Guard from Camp Pendleton during the presentation of the Colors. Please be at the park no later than 10:00 a.m. if you plan to participate in the Saturday program.

The Newport Harbor Exchange Club will set up 1,776 flags in Castaways Park to honor members of the armed forces from Friday to Monday for its 2015 Field of Honor event. The flags have wound through the walkways of the park for the past six years, exchange club member Wally Ziglar said.
