  • Black Powder Training Class

    SD SAR has reserved a black powder/muzzle loading training session.The site is the Escondido Fish & Game Association range at 16525 Guejito RdEscondido CA 92027 near the east end of Lake Wolford.The class would run approx. 6 hours including range time.Date: April 25 2026The class will start at 8:00 am and wrap up midafternoon. The gates will open 30mins early.Cost is at $175 cash per person. That covers classroom and range usage fees. Thiscan be paid in full the day of the class.You will need to bring the guns, black powder, shooting and cleaning patches, borecleaner and lube, eye and ear protection, ramrods, lead round balls, and any othersupplies pertinent to the muskets/rifles you bring.There is a small restaurant a few miles away but I recommend bringing a sacklunch.NRA Muzzleloader certificates will be awarded for each participant.The early signup to get a printed certificate is:https://www.nrainstructors.org/CourseDetails.aspx?Courseid=911160&seats=10&State=n&zip=92025&radius=25.1&id=51&bsa=&youth=&women=You do not need a NRA or BSA id number.   • May 16th Chapter Meeting

    Join us for our chapter meeting May 16th. Doors open at 11:30 AM, meeting starts at 12. Our meeting will be held American Legion hall at 7815 Armour St, San Diego, CA 92111. Menu to include sandwhiches, cookies & water. $20 in advance, 25$ at the door. Please sign up below prior so we can get an accurate headcount for the food. We look forward to seeing you there!

    The San Diego Genealogical Society is hosting an Ice Cream Social to recognize their valuable volunteers on Saturday, June 13 at 1:00 PM at the Grossmont Oasis. The event is patriotically themed to celebrate America 250 & they would embrace having any SAR members there in full period attire!
