A250-Boston Tea Party

America 250 Celebration
Boston Tea Party

On December 16, 2023 the local Chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the San Diego Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution presented a reenactment of the Boston Tea Party.

This commemorated the historical event opening the 250th anniversary celebration of the birth of our nation, we provided our communities an immersive learning experience of the lead up, execution and aftermath of the Boston Tea Party.

This historically accurate event featured dumping of tea into the harbor (simulated). There were also be multiple “stages” for presentations and an interactive portion where spectators were able become part of the program by reading a short prepared script.

To commemorate the 250th anniversary of The Boston Tea Party of 1773, we came up with a profound idea: Forget the boring history books.  Unplug from the internet…and recreate the Boston Tea Party with an immersive theatrical experience scripted and performed by the local middle- and high-school students who are studying American history.
