Even without a scheduled meeting in December members of our Chapter were busy representing SAR and local events around the county. The month began with our Chapter President speaking to a group of 90 5th grade students about the American Revolution. We the program always starts with an introduction to SAR and to the uniform it moves quickly to a question and answer program. The students were prepared with a lot of questions. We also presented the Principal Kim Morton with a Flag Certificate after the program for the The Leadership Academy of Oceanside.

On Saturday Compatriot McAdory also represented the San Diego Chapter at a 90th anniversary celebration for the Linars Chapter of DAR held at the Green Dragon in Carlsbad. Linars Chapter Regent, Brenda Kaesler, and the chapter members put together an excellent program with Brenda reading from the Chapters well documented history. Members put on a “fashion” show of the period dress for each decade.

At the same time the La Jolla parade began, Jim McAdory participated with the Rancho Buena Vista (RBV) Chapter of DAR at the San Marcos Christas parade. This parade was unusual in that each group was to use a “theme” and the RVB Chapter chose a military theme which complements their extensive support the Marines at Camp Pendleton. Most of the ladies are in camo including face paint and those not are leaving for another project at Camp Pendleton!
