On Saturday, February 21st the San Diego Chapter held it’s fourth annual George Washington Birthday dinner at the Green Dragon Tavern & Museum in Carlsbad. Once again, this event was a success leading to planning again for next year to begin soon! The event begins outside with a musket team marching into a firing line and this year we had a George Washington reenactor to inspect the troops.
Our featured speaker was Dr. Richard Blum of the San Diego State University History Department who gave a presentation on the meticulous accounting of Gen. Washington. Our George Washington reenactor, Bill Weineke from New York and he gave a presentation based on a Gen. Washington speech.
We had an excellent turnout with a lot of DAR, CAR and SAR members present as well as a number of potential members and visitors.
