Recently our JROTC Award leader, Gary Newton, attended the annual awards presentation at Mira Mesa High School where he presented cadet Julian Tang with his Awards (medal, certificate , $1000 check. and America 250 coin). There were 300 people at the AFJROTC unit awards banquet where Julian was cheered by his fellow cadets. Julian shared an email he had received from NSSAR informing him that he finished in 2nd place in the SAR National JROTC competition!
This is the second Enhanced JROTC awardee from San Diego that has placed well in the National competition and our Oration contest winner for 2024 placed in the top 10 as well. Congratulations to cadet Tang and the AFJROTC program at Mira Mesa High School.
