SDSAR’s JROTC Award Winner Named Third Place in National Contest

May 24, 2024

Veer Chopra Takes Third Place in National JROTC Contest

May 24, 2024- The San Diego Chapter is proud to announce that our Enhanced JROTC award winner, who won the State contest, has been named as third place in the National Society’s contest.  This the first contestant to place at the national level from our Chapter.

Veer Chopra was presented with our Chapter and State Certificates and medals at the Scripps Ranch High Schools JROTC annual award dinner.  Presenting the awards were Gary Newton (left photo at podium) and Jim McAdory.

The Scripps Ranch program regularly wins at state and national competitions for Air Force JROTC units.  We are proud that their program is among the 48 High Schools in our area that participate in our program.

March 4, 2024- We received notice that our Chapter’s Enhanced JROTC Award winner, Cadet Veer Chopra of Scripps Ranch High School, has won this year’s CASSAR JROTC Enhanced Program competition as well.

Our Sergeant-at-Arms, Gary Newton made the announcement of his selection for SDSAR.

“Cadet Veer Chopra has an outstanding record of accomplishment. He has overcome tremendous obstacles. Accordingly, it is with great pleasure that I advise you that the SDSAR Selection Committee has selected Cadet Chopra WINNER of the competition. He will receive a Gold Medallion on ribbon, Certificate as the Outstanding Cadet, and a check for $250.00. His Nomination Package has been forwarded to CASSAR for competition to win the SAR State competition, which includes a check for $1,000.00.  We can present Cadet Chopra’s awards at your Spring Award Ceremony, or earlier if you prefer.”

The SDSAR Award will be presented soon and the CASSAR award will be presented at the CASSAR Annual Meeting in April.

Congratulation Cadet Chopra.
