We have received a report that access to our monthly Digest was blocked by Norton Anti-Virus software indicating the the link goes to a “dangerous site”. This occurred when the member clicked on the link from our email today (7/31) to members advising that the July version was available.
We first suspected that Norton sees that the link first takes you through MailChimp and then onto the Digest and sees this “redirect” as a security issue. MailChimp uses this routing so that responses can be tracked and reported to us as engagement statistics.
We followed up with Norton and they claim there is “malware” on our site and will delete it for $200. We do not find the claim to be credible as we have daily malware and virus scans on our server and nothing has been found.
We have a button in our Members Area on the Website which provides a link to the current version of the Digest. The link is found under the “What We Do” menu option, and then “Members Area”. On that page the upper left button “Current Digest” always links to the most recent version. If you encounter an issue please contact communications@sarsandiego.org and we will send you a copy via email attachment.
The Digest is created in a number of releases during the month, usually 2-3 updates with the first of a new month posting early in the second week of the month. Each release is uploaded to our website so the “Current Version” button will always have the most current release.
