George Washington Birthday-Photos

February 22, 2023

What an Evening

The San Diego Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution enjoyed a sizable crowd of 68 attendees at our George Washington Birthday Black-Tie Dinner.  We anticipated that our turnout would be somewhat dampened by the inclement weather but that was not the case.  Those that attended enjoyed a musket volley, nice dinner, engaging speakers, raffle with astonishing prizes and a well-run program.

Our Color Guard posting the Colors.

A nice size crowd was on hand to enjoy the evening.

Western District SAR Vice President General, Derick Brown.  He was accompanied by his wife Janet.

California Society President, Jim Klingler. He was accompanied by his wife Lidia.

California Society Vice President-South, John Ferris.  He was accompanied by his wife Liz.

California Society Chaplin, Right Reverend Louis Carlson and his wife Karen.

San Diego Chapter President, Peter Fagen.

Sarah Fagen, wife of Peter and our tireless organizer.

Our keynote speaker for the George Washington Birthday Dinner was Richard Lederer.  His presentation was “FASCINATING FACTS ABOUT GEORGE WASHINGTON AND HIS SUCCESSORS”.  It was both entertaining and informative.

After his presentation he autographed his books for attendees.

Richard is a San Diego Union-Tribune language columnist and the author of 60 books about language, history, and humor, including his best-selling Anguished English series and his current title, Lederer’s Language & Laughter. Dr. Lederer has been named International Punster of the Year and Toastmasters International’s Golden Gavel winner.
